The Garda Commissioner is by law responsible for all operational policing matters, including responses by An Garda Síochána to emergency calls.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a search of their records for incidents recorded as 'Traffic - Failed to Stop' within the Louth and Cavan Monaghan Dispatch Groups from April 2023 returned 388 incidents.

The Garda authorities have advised that this figure is approximate, as some incidents originated from callers other than on-duty Gardaí and an individual examination of records would be required to identify the precise number of relevant incidents.

I am advised that the GardaSAFE system was rolled out incrementally across the organisation in 2023 and, accordingly, it is not possible to provide the requested information for the period prior to April 2023.
