2692. Deputy Natasha Newsome Drennan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the amount paid to the staff in his Department to administer all schemes in each of the years 2022 to 2025, and to date in 2026, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [61275/26]

The below spreadsheet, based on the Department’s Appropriation Accounts, shows an overview of the administrative costs associated with Programmes A (food safety, animal and plant health and animal welfare), B (farm/sector support and controls) and D (seafood sector) of Department expenditure for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

These Programmes include the administration of schemes for the Department’s customers, as well as other areas of work.

The administration costs for Programme C (policy and strategy) are excluded because this programme does not generally include customer-facing schemes.

When the 2025 Appropriation Account is published by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General, these figures will be provided directly to the Deputy.
