Emer Higgins Minister of State at the Department of Children, Disability and Equality Fine Gael

€3.8 billion was the overall allocation for specialist disability services in Budget 2026. €44.3 million was allocated for Day Services. This included the full year cost of 2025 school leaver placements as well as the new cohort of school leavers in 2026.

In addition to funding for 1,400 school leavers from September 2026, funding is being provided in 2026 to cater for in the order of 50 adults with specialist disability service needs who are not school leavers.

As this question refers to service matters, I have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE) to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
