Disabilities Assessments
2903. Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 473 of 16 July 2026, the comparable figures for the end of quarter 2 of 2026, in tabular form. [61318/26]

As the Deputy will be aware from the response to Parliamentary Question No. 473 of 16 July 2026, the delivery of an effective, efficient Assessment of Need system is a priority for the Government.
It is important to emphasise that children do not require an Assessment of Need to access health services or education supports. A parent can refer their child directly to Primary Care or Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) while a GP referral is required to access CAMHS. Information on how to access the appropriate health service for a child is available on the HSE website.
The most recent data provided by the HSE for Q2 2026 shows that 3,043 assessment of need reports were completed by the end of June while 7,100 applications were received during the same period. The table below sets out the comparable data for the first 6 months of 2026 compared to the first 6 months of 2025.
