288. Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú asked the Minister for Transport if he will provide an update on the work being done to deliver greater public transport systems; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [59717/26]

Public Transport is a key area of focus for this Government, as detailed in the Programme for Government and in key policy documents such as the Statement of Strategy and the NDP Sectoral Investment Plan for Transport. Significant work has already been taken to progress the commitments set out under the Transport Chapter of the Programme for Government and almost all are either completed or well underway as of early August 2026.

The summary below details the most recent updates, as well as the next determined milestone for all active Programme for Government commitments. The Department is preparing to publish its Annual Report for 2025, which will go into further detail on achievements across both the Statement of Strategy and the Programme for Government from our work last year.
