The Minister referred the query on Beaumont Hospital’s deep brain stimulation surgery waiting times and reduction measures to the HSE for a direct response.

Deputy Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister for Health the current waiting time for patients who have been assessed and approved for deep brain stimulation surgery at Beaumont Hospital; the reasons for the increase in the waiting time, which was previously approximately 18 months and is now 24 months; and the measures being taken by her Department and the HSE to reduce this waiting time for patients already assessed and approved for surgery.
