The State Claims Agency manages personal injury and third-party property damage claims against State authorities, as delegated to it by Government.

State authorities, whose claims are delegated for management, avail of State indemnity, through the General Indemnity Scheme and the Clinical Indemnity Scheme.

State indemnity operates as a pay-as-you-go model, whereby the State authority retains the costs of claims, in lieu of commercial employers’ liability, public liability and third-party property insurance.
