The Public Health (Single-Use Vapes) Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026 commenced the Public Health (Single-Use Vapes) Act. 24 July 2026 was appointed as the day that the Act came into operation.

There is a six-month transition period built into the Act. Therefore, the prohibition on the sale of single-use vapes will come into effect on 24 January 2027.

The National Environmental Health Service will engage with businesses in advance to ensure that all are aware of their obligations under the Act.
