Tobacco Control Measures

Summary

A response was requested on when the HSE tobacco registration portal launched and whether electronic tax-clearance verification was mandatory for applications or approvals.

3464. Deputy Ruairí Ó Murchú asked the Minister for Health in relation to the HSE’s national environmental health service online portal for registering tobacco products and nicotine inhaling products, when the licensing system first became operational; if a successful electronic tax-clearance verification was technically mandatory before an application could be submitted or approved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
