Staff are regularly reminded of their obligations under the Ethics in Public Office framework, Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO) guidance and the Civil Service Code of Standards and Behaviour. In June 2026, a communication issued to all staff reiterating the requirement that gifts, hospitality or benefits should not be accepted where they could reasonably be perceived as influencing the performance of official duties, that cash gifts or cash equivalents must never be accepted and that any gift accepted in exceptional circumstances should be declared and recorded in accordance with Departmental procedures.
Since 1st January 2025, the Department has recorded no declarations of gifts, hospitality or other benefits.
I have asked the HSE to reply directly to the Deputy with details relating to its Register of Gifts for the period requested. Details in respect of other bodies under the aegis of my Department are operational matters for the bodies concerned and the Deputy should contact the relevant Director, Chief Executive Officer or Registrar directly.
