Deputy Eoghan Kenny asked the Minister for Health the number of persons currently awaiting assessment for, approval for, and implantation of deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy; the average and median waiting times at each stage of the pathway; the number of DBS procedures carried out in each of the past five years, by hospital; the number of persons currently on DBS waiting lists, broken down by neurological condition; the measures being taken to reduce waiting times; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
