The Minister referred the request for free quarterly compression leggings for all lymphoedema patients to the HSE, which determines medical-device reimbursement.

Deputy Roderic O'Gorman asked the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 2826 of 14 April 2026, if free compression leggings can be provided to all patients diagnosed with lymphoedema every three months, as opposed to just those patients who are treated in specialist lymphoedema clinics (SLC’s) in the community or early detection services; and if she will a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and medical devices; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
