The Minister referred questions on specialist plastic surgeon capacity and access to risk-reducing mastectomy and reconstruction services to the HSE.

Deputy Charles Ward asked the Minister for Health the number of specialist plastic surgeons currently available to perform risk-reducing double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery; the extent to which maternity leave, vacancies and lack of cover have affected available capacity; whether other additional surgical capacity is being pursued to provide such surgeries; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
