Deputy Cormac Devlin asked the Minister for Health the number of persons under 18 years-of-age dispensed an inhaled corticosteroid and formoterol combination inhaler under the general medical services scheme, the drugs payment scheme and the long term illness scheme in each of the years 2021 to 2025, and to date in 2026; the expenditure incurred by the Health Service Executive on those items in each of those years, in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
