A parliamentary question on financial assistance for low-income patients’ healthcare travel costs was referred to the Department of Social Protection.

Deputy Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh asked the Minister for Health the financial supports currently available to assist low-income households with the costs of travelling to and accessing healthcare services, including travel and accommodation costs where patients are required to attend appointments or treatment outside their local area; and if she will consider increasing these supports, particularly for households in rural and regional areas.
