Ambulance Service

Summary

The Minister referred questions about deploying qualified community paramedics, including in Clonmel, and resolving roster and payment concerns to the HSE.

3988. Deputy Michael Murphy asked the Minister for Health the number of National Ambulance Service personnel who have recently qualified as community paramedics but have not yet been deployed in those roles; the locations in which they were intended to operate, including Clonmel; whether concerns regarding proposed roster and shift-payment arrangements are preventing their deployment; and the steps being taken to urgently resolve these matters and enable the community paramedicine and alternative pre-hospital care pathway to become operational as intended. As this is an operational matter, I have referred the matter directly to the HSE.
