The HSE will respond directly to Deputy Heneghan on hospital inpatient bed numbers, definitions, exclusions and available bed days for 2020–2026.

Deputy Barry Heneghan asked the Minister for Health the average number of inpatient beds available at each level 4 and level 3 hospital within each HSE region in each of the years 2020 to 2025 and to date in 2026; the definition of inpatient bed applied in compiling that figure; if day beds, critical care beds and psychiatric beds are included or excluded; and the total available bed days at each hospital in each of those years, in tabular form.
