Summary

The Minister referred the Deputy’s questions on Tullamore’s joint replacement numbers, projections and capacity constraints to the HSE for a direct response.

4026. Deputy John Clendennen asked the Minister for Health the number of total hip replacements and total number of knee replacement procedures carried out at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore in 2024, 2025 and to date in 2026, broken down by procedure and year; the projected number of each procedure to be completed by the end of 2026; and if current theatre, bed, consultant, anaesthetic or other staffing capacity is limiting the number of joint replacement procedures that can be undertaken at the hospital.
