Comment on this
I can confirm for the Deputy that there were only five languages requested for translation/interpretation services in my Department over the past five years. They were:
• Irish – in accordance with the Official Languages Act 2003
• Irish sign language services and captioning – used for disability events
• Ukrainian – Requested for a Further Education and Training information document, and for the PLC Bursary for Displaced Persons Scheme - 2022, 2023 and 2024
• Russian – Requested for a Further Education and Training information document, and for the PLC Bursary for Displaced Persons Scheme - 2022, 2023 and 2024
• Japanese – requested for a Ministerial visit to Japan in 2025
My Department provided no translation/interpretation services for any other language.
