The Minister said higher-education institutions independently determine curricula, so the Department does not hold information on courses covering induced lactation in men.
4089. Deputy Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science if education or training concerning induced lactation in men is currently provided as part of any programme or course in an Irish university or higher-education institutions; if so, the institutions and programmes concerned; whether it forms part of the core curriculum or optional education; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Universities Act 1997 and the Technological Universities Act 2018 provide higher education institutions with autonomy and responsibility for their day-to-day management and operational/academic affairs. This includes areas such as curriculum development and course content and as such the Department and Minister have no role in these matters.
