From 1 January 2025 to date in 2026, my Department has allocated in the region of €32 million in funding for initiatives across counties Cavan and Monaghan. This includes over €14.5 million for Cavan and over €17.7 million for Monaghan.
Programmes such as the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF) provide funding for the development and construction of capital projects in rural areas. The lifecycle of RRDF projects, which typically involve large-scale capital works, ranges from three to five years. As a result, projects approved prior to 2025 continue to be delivered. In Cavan, five RRDF projects, representing almost €26 million in funding are currently ongoing, while in Monaghan six projects representing €22 million are currently ongoing.
