The Chief Officer of the National Economic and Social Development Office (NESDO) – the only body under the aegis of the Department of the Taoiseach – and the Director of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) are occupied by the same person. They are paid in respect of their position as Director of NESC and receive no additional remuneration, emoluments, or expenses in relation to their role as Chief Officer of NESDO.
All staff of NESDO and NESC are paid in accordance with relevant pay circulars issued by the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation. The Chief Officer / Director is paid at the Assistant Secretary salary scale.
