The CLÁR programme provides funding under several measures for small-scale infrastructure projects in designated rural areas. Last year, the programme approved over €14 million for 238 projects, including funding for community facilities and amenities, community vehicles, and specific support for island communities.

The 2026 CLÁR programme was launched on 10th March with an increased 2026 allocation of €12m.

The measures funded under CLÁR 2026 are:

Measure 1: Developing Community Facilities & Amenities

Measure 2: Mobility, Cancer Care, First Responder and Meals on Wheels Transport

Measure 3: Our Living Islands

Following the closing date for applications, the total value of applications received across all three measures amounts to over €24m The assessment process has now commenced and I look forward to announcing the successful projects later in the year.

Details of the amount sought in applications from each county is contained in the attached table.
