Seán Canney Minister of State at the Department of Transport Independent

Thank you for your query in relation to the Road Transporter Support Scheme. Over 4,400 applications were received under the Scheme and my Department has issued assessment outcomes to over 3,400 applicants.

Officials are in contact with the remaining applicants who are yet to receive their assessment outcome. Some applications were missing some of the required information or contained errors. Applicants are being allowed to correct their applications so that the assessment process can be completed.

Officials estimate that all applicants will have heard from the Department with the outcome of their application or to provide further information by mid-September. If an applicant has not yet been contacted, I would ask for their continued patience while the remaining applications are assessed.

In order to respect the privacy of those who have submitted applications, it is not appropriate to comment on the status or assessment outcomes of individual applications. However, I can let the Deputy know that contact has been made with the applicant concerned.

Details of the appeals process for the Road Transports Support Scheme will be made publicly available on the Department’s website shortly. All applicants have a right to submit an appeal if they were not granted support on foot of their original application.
