Seán Canney Minister of State at the Department of Transport Independent

As Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, I wish to advise the Deputy that the Disabled Parking Scheme is administered by two independent bodies, The Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland and the Irish Wheelchair Association. Neither I nor the Department may intervene in individual applications for disabled parking cards.

The Deputy may wish to note that the Department is currently undertaking a review of the eligibility criteria for the Disabled Parking Scheme.
