Seán Canney Minister of State at the Department of Transport Independent

I wish to inform the Deputy that as Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, although my Department is responsible for the legislation underpinning the Disabled Parking Scheme, the day to day operations of the Scheme are a matter for the issuing bodies, the Irish Wheelchair Association and the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland. Neither I nor the Department may intervene in any individual application or appeal for a disabled parking permit.
