The Department of the Taoiseach does not have a dedicated advertising budget as spend is generally limited to routine advertisements in national print publications regarding judicial appointments and Commemoration Events such as the Commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising and the National Day of Commemoration. This expenditure is met from the Department's administrative budget, under Subhead A(IV) Operational Services, Supplies and Sundry Equipment.

When required, the Department purchases advertising through a Media Strategy, Planning and Buying service, procured through an Office of Government Procurement Framework.

The table below details expenditure incurred by the Department on social media and online advertising in 2025 and to date in 2026.

Note 1: The COVID-19 Evaluation operates independently of the Department of the Taoiseach but is funded from the Department’s Vote.

Note 2: The National Economic and Social Development Office - the only body under the aegis of the Department of the Taoiseach - did not incur any expenditure on social media or online advertising in 2025 or to date in 2026.
