Deputy Barry Heneghan asked the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment if consideration is being given to establishing a dedicated programme to identify and support high-growth indigenous SMEs with the potential to become internationally competitive businesses through tailored investment, innovation and export supports; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department, through Enterprise Ireland, operates a range of targeted programmes designed to identify and support ambitious indigenous companies with strong growth and international scaling potential. These supports provide tailored assistance across investment, innovation, productivity and export development to help Irish firms compete successfully in global markets.

Enterprise Ireland works closely with client companies to support their growth journey, from innovative start-ups and high-potential start-ups through to scaling SMEs and established exporters. Supports include grant aid for research, development and innovation activities, access to equity and other funding, management development programmes, productivity and digitalisation supports, and assistance to enter and expand in international markets through Enterprise Ireland's extensive overseas network.

In particular, Enterprise Ireland's High Potential Start-Up programme targets innovative businesses with the potential to achieve significant export sales and employment growth, while its broader suite of scaling and internationalisation supports is focused on helping indigenous SMEs realise their global growth ambitions.

The Government remains committed to strengthening the pipeline of Irish-owned firms capable of achieving international scale and competitiveness. My Department and Enterprise Ireland keep the range of enterprise supports under ongoing review to ensure they continue to meet the needs of high-growth indigenous businesses and support sustainable economic and employment growth across the country.
