Officials of the Department and its Offices are subject to the Civil Service Code of Standards and Behaviour, which sets out the obligations applicable to civil servants in relation to gifts, hospitality, and conflicts of interest. In addition, relevant provisions of the Ethics in Public Office Acts apply to designated public officials.

In relation to agencies under the aegis of the Department, matters related to gifts, hospitality, or other benefits received by staff are an operational matter for each agency. Accordingly, the agencies have been requested to respond directly to the Deputy.
