Peter Burke Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Fine Gael

I propose to take Questions Nos. 1067 and 1068 together.

The total expenditure by my Department on translation and interpretation services in each of the past five calendar years (2020-2025) is detailed in tabular format below.

Of the above total the most requested language for translation services was the Irish language, amounting to €177,456 of total expenditure during the years in question. From the information available the remaining €14,202 was expended activities such as proofreading expenses, multiple language translation, Spanish interpretation services and sign language interpretation.

Expenditure in respect of the Agencies of my Department is an operational matter for them and not one in which I have a direct responsibility. I have accordingly forwarded the Deputy's question to the agencies for attention and direct reply.
