1120. Deputy Conor D. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Youth the school transport options that are available to a student (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [60026/26]

The School Transport Scheme is a significant operation managed by Bus Éireann on behalf of the Department of Education and Youth.

The purpose of my Department's School Transport Scheme is, having regard to available resources, to support the transport to and from school of children who reside remote from their nearest school.

I am pleased to advise that Bus Éireann has advised the pupil referred to by the Deputy is eligible for school transport and was issued a ticket on a school transport service on 13 August 2026 for the 2026/27 school year.
