Deputy Cathy Bennett asked the Minister for Education and Youth further to Parliamentary Question Nos. 285 and 286 of 18 September 2024, 511 of 5 November 2024, Freedom of Information Request DES-FOI-2026-0156, and their confirmation that they do not currently use artificial intelligence in the preparation of response to Parliamentary Questions, if they have ever in the past, prior to the present, used artificial intelligence in the preparation of responses to Parliamentary Questions. In a clarification sought from Deputy Cathy Bennett regarding the reference to Freedom of Information request DES-FOI-2026-0156 that was included in the original PQ, Deputy Bennett’s office clarified it should have been DES-FOI-2025-0238.

In keeping with the responses to PQ 36137/24, PQ 36156/24, PQ 45255/24 and FOI request DES-FOI-2025-0238, my Department in the past and prior to the present, has not and did not use AI to prepare responses to Parliamentary Questions.
