National Car Test
The Minister referred questions on NCT waiting times, overdue vehicles and measures to reduce delays to the Road Safety Authority.
231. Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Transport the average waiting time for an NCT appointment, by county; the number of vehicles currently overdue an NCT due to a lack of available appointments; and the measures being taken to reduce waiting times. [64772/26]

Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the delivery of the National Car Testing (NCT) service and the information requested is held by the Authority.
Given the RSA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy’s question to the RSA for direct response. Please contact my office if a reply is not received within ten days.
