The Oireachtas Liaison function in the National Transport Authority (NTA) processes all queries received from public representatives, local authority motions, departmental queries and also questions submitted to the Department via the Parliamentary Question process.
They have received approximately 4,300 cases in total this year across these areas which includes approximately 2,600 queries from public representatives (sent directly to the NTA outside the Parliamentary Question process)
They have been referred 1195 PQs in total this year and have resolved 919.
261 are open or unanswered. Of that 261, 68 were received within the last two weeks.
As such, they have 193 unanswered PQs that are over the 15 day timeframe.
The NTA continues to respond to all queries received as part of the political process and it should be noted that they are issuing record numbers of responses. They do acknowledge that at times, delays to issuing responses do occur but they do try to minimise this as much as possible based on the resources available to them.
