Rail Network

Summary

The Minister referred a query on rail projects potentially delayed by traffic-management-system replacement costs to the National Transport Authority for response.

316. Deputy Grace Boland asked the Minister for Transport the rail investment projects, programmes or service improvements expected to be delayed, rephased or reprioritised as a consequence of the costs associated with the failed traffic management system and its replacement; and the details of each affected project or programme, its previous delivery timeframe and its revised delivery timeframe, in tabular form. Darragh O'Brien Minister for Transport Fianna Fáil

Under the Dublin Transport Authority Act 2008, the National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA), including the National Train Control Centre, or NTCC. The NTA also manages the wider portfolio of public transport investment nationally.

Noting the NTA's responsibility in this matter, I have referred the Deputy's questions to the NTA for a direct, detailed reply. Please contact my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 days.
