The Minister referred questions on fainting incidents, service capacity and safe carriage limits on the Clondalkin–Connolly route to Iarnród Éireann.

Deputy Mark Ward asked the Minister for Transport if incidents of fainting on public transport are recorded; if so, the number of people who have fainted on public transport and details; if he is aware of commuters fainting on the morning Iarnród Éireann commuter rail service from Clondalkin & Fonthill to Dublin Connolly; the steps that are being taken to increase capacity on this line; and if he will outline the safe capacity level for carriages. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
