The School Transport Scheme is a significant operation managed by Bus Éireann on behalf of the Department of Education and Youth.
The purpose of the Department's School Transport Scheme is, having regard to available resources, to support the transport to and from school of children who reside remote from their nearest school.
An application for school transport under the School Transport Scheme for Children with Special Educational Needs was received by School Transport Section on 02/09/26 for the pupil referred to and I am pleased to advise that this pupil has been deemed eligible to the school they are attending.
Bus Éireann has advised that they can be accommodated on an existing service and the driver of the vehicle will be in contact with the family regarding the pick-up time.
A ticket will be sent to this family in due course.
