James Browne Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Fianna Fáil

As the Valuation Tribunal is independent in the performance of its functions, my Department does not hold the information requested in relation to the number of appeals involving the rating of agricultural or horticultural buildings have been brought before the Valuation Tribunal since 2020; the number that were successful; or the average length of time taken to determine these appeals.

It is noted that certain information on Valuation Tribunal appeals activity is included in the Tribunal's Annual Reports, available on the organisation's website at: www.valuationtribunal.ie/about-us/publications/.

Judgements of the Valuation Tribunal are also published and can be accessed on the Tribunal's website (at: www.valuationtribunal.ie/judgments/) under 'Name', 'Year', 'Property category' and 'Rating Authority'. It is noted that the Tribunal does not, however, include a specific category of appeal termed 'agriculture / horticultural'.

The Deputy may wish to contact the Tribunal directly in relation to the information sought by emailing info@valuationtribunal.ie.
