James Browne Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Fianna Fáil

Under Section 149 of the Local Government Act 2001, the Chief Executive of a local authority is responsible for the executive functions of the local authority, and for that purpose to manage and control generally, the administration and business of the authority, subject to law.

The provision of detailed information on income and expenditure is a matter for each individual local authority. Local authority income and expenditure is reported in the Statement of Comprehensive Income (Income & Expenditure) of their Annual Financial Statements (AFS). However, it is not outlined in the detail as requested. Therefore, this information is not available in my Department but it may be available from the local authorities concerned.
