Departmental Contracts

Summary

The Department has maintained an annual Oracle support contract since 2003, while information on contracts held by its agencies must be requested directly from them.

My Department has an annual contract with Oracle for support and maintenance of its Financial Management System. This contract has been in place since 2003, when the system was first developed, and has remained in place throughout this period. The support required is proprietary to Oracle and can only be provided by that company; therefore, no alternative providers are available for this service.

My Department does not maintain the requested information in respect of the State bodies under its aegis. Arrangements have been put in place by all bodies under the aegis of my Department to facilitate the provision of information directly to members of the Oireachtas. This provides a speedy, efficient and cost effective system to address queries directly to the relevant bodies. These bodies may be contacted directly by e-mail by members of the Oireachtas, as set out in the table below.
