Bord Bia is a state agency under the remit of my Department. The State Agencies under the remit of my Department, including the CEO and staff of Bord Bia, have ongoing engagement with my Department across the year in relation to policy and operational matters. In addition, the CEO of Bord Bia, in line with our governance structures attends two formal governance meeting with Department officials and a further formal meeting with the Secretary General of my Department annually. The most recent formal meeting between the Secretary General of my Department and the CEO of Bord Bia was on 26th March 2026.
The CEO of Bord Bia is also a member of the Food Vision High Level Implementation Committee which I chair and which meets quarterly to monitor progress of our agri-food strategy Food Vision 2030 and to drive delivery of priority actions. The most recent meeting of the Food Vision High Level Implementation Committee was on 27 May 2026.
As Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, I attend many events organised by Bord Bia, as well as many external events which the CEO of Bord Bia also attends. For example, last month I visited the United Kingdom in collaboration with Bord Bia for a series of meetings to support and promote the Irish beef sector in its most important export market. The Bord Bia CEO was also present at these meetings, and briefed me in advance on relevant developments. I also attended a number of Bord Bia events over the course of the summer including Bord Bia Bloom.
While I have had frequent engagement this year with the CEO of Bord Bia including at events as outlined above, there is no record of a formal meeting separate to these structures in my diary.
