Departmental Reviews

Summary

The Minister referred the question to the HSE, which will respond on whether approval and refusal decisions under the treatment abroad scheme have been reviewed.

1136. Deputy Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 1011 of 6 May 2026, whether any audit or review since 2020 has examined the correctness or consistency of individual approval and refusal decisions under the treatment abroad scheme, as distinct from audit of the scheme's expenditure or financial controls; and, if so, to provide the dates and findings of each such review; and if none has taken place, to state this plainly. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
