An evaluation of the National Cancer Strategy 2017–2026 is underway, with completion expected in early 2027 to inform its successor.
1329. Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health when an evaluation of the National Cancer Strategy 2017–2026 will be commissioned; and the date by which that evaluation is scheduled for completion. [65260/26]

I have approved the evaluation approach for the National Cancer Strategy 2017–2026 and work on progressing this evaluation is ongoing.
An Evaluation Oversight Group has been established and I have appointed an Expert Panel composed of independent international experts to conduct the evaluation. Preparatory work is underway, including arrangements for document review and an in-country visit by the Expert Panel.
The evaluation is expected to conclude in early 2027. Its findings will inform the development of the successor National Cancer Strategy.
