Seán Canney Minister of State at the Department of Transport Independent

In his capacity as Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, my colleague Seán Canney T.D, has responsibility for the Irish Coast Guard and the SAR Aviation Contract.

Bristow Ireland Ltd. has advised my Department that construction of the new facility identified by the Deputy is at an advanced stage and that it anticipates project completion by December of this year, with the expectation of being fully operational by early Q1 2027. The new facility includes crew accommodation, helicopter hangar, operations and office spaces. In the interim, duty crews are accommodated in dedicated on-site facilities.
