My Department has an established Risk Management Policy to assist business areas in identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting on the risks to which the Department may be exposed. It also enables the achievement of the Department’s strategic objectives through well-managed governance structures. The policy has been prepared in accordance with the relevant guidelines which were issued by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform in 2016.
All risks identified are held in risk registers on the Department's Business Planning and Risk Management application. Reports on these risks and the actions to mitigate them are examined by the Management Board each quarter. The risk management policy is embedded throughout the work of each business area of my Department.
The information contained in the Department’s risk registers can be of a sensitive nature. As such, it is not possible to provide copies. The Department's Risk Management Policy is published online and available on gov.ie.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
