Depending on the welfare scheme customers may have the option to register their social welfare claim via a paper form, or digitally on MyWelfare. Registered claims are assigned to the appropriate welfare office.

The number of claims registered for the main welfare schemes is published in the Department of Social Protection Annual Statistics Report. Figures for 2026 are available for selected schemes only and cannot directly be compared to the annual figures. Claim registration statistics are collected on a national level and cannot be broken down by claim characteristics such as the welfare office.
