Kevin Boxer Moran Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation Independent

I can confirm that the Office of Public Works (OPW) will deliver the project of restoring and reinstating the historic railings at Carlow Courthouse, following approval of the request for professional services received from the Court Service. The project will be funded entirely by the Courts Service.

The project is currently at tender preparation station and is subject to a Part 9 planning process.

Works are expected to commence in Q3 of 2027 with completion expected in Q3 of 2028.

The responsibility for ongoing maintenance and capital development at Carlow Courthouse will remain with the Courts Service.
