Tourism Ireland is the organisation with responsibility for marketing the island of Ireland overseas as a compelling holiday and Business Events destination. Tourism Ireland is active in 15+ key markets across Great Britain, North America, Mainland Europe, Australia and nascent markets.
High profile sporting events e.g., The Open returning to Royal Portrush in the summer of 2025, the Ryder Cup taking place at Adare Manor in 2027 and the Aer Lingus College Football Classic series provide Tourism Ireland with a unique opportunity to highlight the island of Ireland as a wonderful holiday destination, as well as a top location for sporting events.
Below in tabular form are details of the major international sporting events until 2030 which Tourism Ireland will leverage for overseas tourism to the island of Ireland.
** once the qualifying teams are known, Tourism Ireland will look at the opportunity and draw up a promotional plan.
