The School Transport Scheme is a significant operation managed by Bus Éireann on behalf of the Department of Education and Youth.

Decisions made by, or on behalf of, my Department regarding the provision of school transport services and/or grant-aid under the terms of the schemes may be appealed to the School Transport Appeals Board.

This Board is independent in the performance of its functions and works in accordance with the terms of their Operating Procedures.

An appeal in respect of school transport for the family referred to by the Deputy was lodged with the Board. The Board will liaise directly with the appellants regarding the outcome of the appeal.
