The HSE will respond directly on NAS eligibility rules for paramedic shift allowances, qualifying shifts, governing circulars and any differences affecting new staff.

Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Health the current NAS policy governing eligibility for shift allowance or shift premium for paramedics, including the minimum number and type of qualifying shifts required, for each grade and cohort; the details of circulars or similar governing this; and whether there a different rules for new paramedics in any service area compared to existing staff.
